HERBS FOR ACUPUNCTURISTS

This is a course for acupuncturists who have not had extensive training in Chinese herbal medicine.

Join us for a one-day discussion of a select group of patent herbal remedies, both internal formulas and topical herbal applications, which can be confidently and safely integrated into your acupuncture practice. Even without comprehensive training, there are many basic patent remedies that you can offer to your patients that can extend and enhance your treatment goals. We will look at when, and, just as importantly, when not to prescribe these formulas. This course will also address the safety (1 CEU/PDA) and ethical (1 CEU/PDA) aspects of Chinese herbal prescriptions.

This course can help expand your view of the Chinese medical tradition and teach you basic herbal literacy so that you can better answer patients’ questions when they are exposed to Chinese herbs outside of your clinic.

If you are an acupuncturist looking to approach Chinese herbs with more confidence and familiarize yourself with the commonly used patent herbal formulas, this is a fun day to open a door to a new modality.

Topics Include:

  • Treatment of Colds, Flu and Sinus congestion

  • Basic Traumatology: the use of liniments, plasters and compresses in soft tissue injury

  • Skin Care: Eczema, hives, rashes, herpes, shingles

  • Acute Digestive Issues: Food Stasis, Sudden Turmoil Disorder

  • and more…
