I am a general practitioner with over 19 years of clinical experience seeing a wide range people with various conditions. My goal is to understand the uniqueness of each person’s suffering and to provide truly individualized care.
The main tools I use are acupuncture (including all five channel systems: primary, sinew, luo, divergent, eight extraordinary), Chinese herbal medicine, dietary therapy, Qi gong and counseling.
I have accumulated a lot of experience treating chronic and acute pain. I have specialty training in gynecology seeing a broad range conditions, for example, painful or irregular periods, fibroids and cysts (including PCOS) and menopause related issues. A segment of my practice is devoted to fertility, pregnancy and postpartum care (an often neglected time that I take special interest in). I also have special training in pediatrics, seeing infants, young children and teens for general wellness care, sleep issues, digestive problems, allergies and behavioral concerns. I also regularly see patients with chronic degenerative diseases as well as patients with unclear diagnoses (including Lyme & related tick-borne illnesses, Epstein-Barr, CFS). I also have much experience treating psycho-emotional issues such as anxiety and depression. Above all, my goal is to see each person as unique and whole, and offer to them individualized, compassionate care.
Your first visit includes an intake exam, acupuncture treatment and/or herbal consultation, and will take 60 - 90 minutes. The intake exam will include a tongue diagnosis and a pulse diagnosis. Please do not drink any caffeine 3 hours before the visit, and avoid any food with strong color (i.e. blueberries or strawberries). It is fine to have a light meal before the visit. It is best to wear loose-fitting, two-piece clothing that is easy to remove.
