Evan M. Rabinowitz is the Director of Chinese Herbal Studies at the Tai Sophia Institute for the Healing Arts, Laurel MD. Evan is former faculty in the Chinese Herbal Medicine Department at the Academy for Five Element Acupuncture, Miami where he lectured on internal medicine, gynecology, digestive disorders, external medicine, and was a clinical supervisor. He holds a Masters of Acupuncture degree and Certificate in Chinese Herbal Medicine from the Traditional Acupuncture Institute, Columbia Maryland. He is Nationally Board Certified by the National Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). He received his Bachelor’s Degree from The George Washington University, Washington DC, where he studied Comparative Religion and Traditional Eastern Philosophies.  He has continued his study of the Perennial Philosophy under Seyyed Hossein Nasr for the past 16 yrs.  Evan spent several years apprenticing to herbalist Thea Elijah and has spent the last seven years deepening his studies with Jeffery Yuen, 88th generation Taoist priest, under whom he received a certificate in Chinese Herbal Medicine and Advanced Acupuncture.

In 2002, Evan was recognized by the U.S. Department of Health for his “outstanding contribution to Asian Medicine.”
